This is our tradition for New Years Day. Home made Pastys with Gravy. Yum! If you don't know what this food is let me tell you. These "hot pockets" which have a long history came to the Upper Peninsula, Michigan via Cornish Miners. The miners would take them into the mines, heat them up with their lamps and have a warm lunch. The Pasty is a complete meal consisting of crust, meat, potatoes, carrots, turnips and or rutabaga. I hope you get a chance to taste it for yourself.
